Offshore Island-Kinmen
(3 Days Battle Island Tour)
Kinmen is a small island with a very big reputation. Situated just off the coast of Mainland China, it was the site of fierce fighting between Communist and Nationalist forces when the latter withdrew from the mainland in 1949. If you are interested in the history of Taiwan and China, go quick to sign up for this tour, you will learn very deep knowledge of Taiwan history, see a lot of historic sites and experience local food.
Day 1
Fly to Kinmen
- The guide will greet you at the hotel lobby in Taipei, take you to the domestic airport (Songshan) and help you check-in in the airport, take a short nap then we will arrive on the battle island Kinmen.
- We are going to sightseeing in the city after leaving the airport, you will see stunning architecture and charming military history surrounding this small island. You can't miss seeing the wind lion god! Built in the past for protection from wind damage and misfortune, they're unique to Kinmen. Dotted all around the island, you're almost sure to run into one, but they're especially concentrated in the northwest part (Shamei town area) where the wind is the strongest.

Day 2
Little Kinmen
- After breakfast, we are going to Lieyu township(also called little Kinmen) by boat, just 30 minutes will get there, then our guide will take you to visit landmarks of Lieyu, such as Jiugong Tunnels, Brave Fortress, Bada Tower and August 23 Artillery Battle Victory Monument.
- Today's highlight would be changing military clothes and experiencing simulated shooting in the firing range, it's pretty safe and you will get a certificate when you finish it, do not forget to take a picture to keep this moment.
- The snack culture of Kinmen has southern Fujian roots, while also infusing a unique local touch. Seafood specialties include oyster omelets, oyster vermicelli, and fried sandworms, and for a light snack one can choose from bite-sized savory pastries, date candy, Cantonese congee, stuffed clay-oven rolls, and other taste bud pleasers.

Day 3
Fly Back To Taiwan
- The guide will take you walking around Jincheng old street, go through alley and guide you to the historic sites and recommend delicious local food.
Before we leave Kinmen, we will stop at a sorghum wine factory and you should consider getting some for your family or friends, the sorghum is the pride of Kinmen and has a lot of fans in Taiwan.
- Among Kinmen's best-known specialty items are peanut candy, sorghum wine, vermicelli, sorghum vinegar, porcelain and ceramics. The climate, soil, and water quality of Kinmen are ideal for growing high-oil peanuts with rich flavor. The local harvest is used to make crispy peanut candy. Kinmen's climate is also well suited for making strong sorghum spirits.
- The guide will help you check-in in the airport and back to the main island together, then send you to the hotel you have booked or international airport.
